What you need to know:
A flaw in the popular Social Media app could allow attackers to access your personal information, such as phone number, user ID, and other information that could lead to phishing attacks.
TikTok has over 800 million users. To help people find others through their contacts, TikTok has a sync contacts function to search your contacts for other users of the app. With a minor change to the function, attackers would be able to build a vast database of information that could be used against its users. Another major flaw found in the app could allow attackers to gain access to users’ accounts, thus allowing them to upload, delete, or change privacy, to make hidden videos public.
We urge all users not to share their login information with anyone. Also, update your apps regularly to get the newest security updates.
